I have worked in the Sports and Leisure Industry since the early 1990’s. I started as a Recreation assistant, whilst studying A level Sport Studies and City and Guilds Leisure and recreation. I worked my way up to Duty manager at a local Sports Center. I coached Trampolining and Gymnastics both recreational and competitive for over 22years.

I decided to become a CYQ Level 3 Pilates instructor when both my boys started school. I spent my week day evenings teaching Trampolining and Gymnastics, but decided on a career change.

I have been involved with Pilates since it became popular in the UK in early 2001, teaching since 2008. As an ex-gymnast with lower back pain and degenerate knees, I benefited from regular Pilates classes. I found that it was reducing the amount of lower back pain I was getting and my posture had improved. I was more aware of my body, how I stood, walked, sat and slept.

I have always loved to be involved in exercise. I taught Aerobics for many years whilst living in London. I windsurf, SUP, Cycle and ski. Then I found Pilates and immediately thought it was amazing.

Before I moved to Australia, where Pilates is very popular. I used to attend a class with Nina at the BSP Studio. When I returned to the UK I decided to become a Pilates instructor. After asking Nina’s advice I decided to train with the same training company, Pilates training solutions. Nina supported me all the way through and still does.

I first started Pilates 11 years ago with Nina to sort out my aches and pains that were stopping me from doing the activities that I love which include beach fishing, paddle sports, climbing and long scenic walks. I decided to train as a Pilates instructor to further my knowledge of my body and be able to help others that have aches and pains to be able to get back to the activities that they love doing.

I joined BSP classes in August 2021. With a background in Yoga, which I took up as a result of a car accident almost 30 years ago which left me with whiplash and a disease aka Fibromyalgia. Pilates was the next step on my journey to self help and self discipline. Nina and BSP team have been inspiring and encouraging throughout my Pilates journey. With Nina’s mentorship I progressed to be a certified Clinical Pilates Instructor.

I am very excited to be embarking on my next chapter of life in good form.
